Bitcoin Surges as Washington Turns Supportive of Digital Assets

The White House's shift in policy towards digital assets has contributed to Bitcoin's recent surge. The administration is now framing crypto as an industry that should be built and kept in America, rather than treated with tighter oversight.

This change in tone is particularly significant for institutional investors, who have been hesitant to enter the market due to uncertainty around custody rules, token classification, and regulatory jurisdiction.

The Clarity Act, currently awaiting a Senate vote on September 15, aims to clarify these regulatory issues. A positive outcome would likely reinforce the notion that Washington is becoming increasingly supportive of digital assets, potentially attracting even more investment.

ETF money has also played a key role in Bitcoin's rally, with spot ETFs attracting around $517 million in net inflows since May. This influx of institutional capital, combined with improving regulatory expectations and a short squeeze, has given investors two reasons to rebuild exposure at the same time.
