Bitcoin Surges Near $80K as ETF Inflows Smash August Records
The crypto market appears to be gaining momentum as Bitcoin (BTC) holds near $80,000 after rebounding sharply in August. According to recent data, spot Bitcoin ETFs have pulled in a record-breaking $3.51 billion for the month so far, while the total crypto market value has climbed to around $2.68 trillion.
Meanwhile, Ethereum (ETH) is consolidating near $2,500, and Solana (SOL) has been one of the standout performers, up 4% on the day and 17.8% over the past week, keeping its price above $105 after briefly hitting $110.
Despite this positive trend, markets are watching developments outside crypto for potential catalysts that could shape near-term volatility. Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh is set to speak at the Jackson Hole Symposium, and an SEC proposal covering crypto custody rules for advisers and funds is advancing through White House review.
In addition, traders are paying attention to infrastructure plays like LiquidChain (LIQUID), a new Layer 3 network focused on linking Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana liquidity. LIQUID has raised $953,000 in its presale and is nearing the $1 million mark.
