Bitcoin Surges Past $68,000 on Weaker Dollar and Lower Yields
Bitcoin's price surged more than 6% on Wednesday, pushing towards $69,000 as lower Treasury yields and a weaker dollar improved conditions for risk assets ahead of the Federal Reserve's July meeting minutes.
The move pushed BTC through resistance around $65,000-$66,000 and back toward the upper end of its recent range. The rally appears to be driven by a mix of macro and crypto-specific catalysts rather than one headline factor.
Falling yields in the U.S. bond market on Wednesday helped improve conditions for Bitcoin as long-term Treasury yields moved lower. This reduced the relative appeal of interest-bearing assets, while a weaker dollar often supports alternative assets such as BTC.
