Bitcoin Surges Past $70,000 as Crypto Market Sees Sharp Price Gains
Bitcoin (BTC) has broken past $70,000 for the first time since early June, marking an 8% gain over the past 24 hours. The asset's price surge was accompanied by a sharp increase in liquidation volume, with around $3 billion in positions liquidated across the crypto market.
Ethereum (ETH) also experienced significant gains, rising by about 10% to top $2,300 for the first time since May. This upswing is part of a broader trend affecting most other top-10 cryptocurrencies, according to CoinMarketCap.
The Fear and Greed Index has risen by 16 points, moving from 'fear' to 'greed' as a result of this market activity. However, it's worth noting that Glassnode previously outlined conditions for a potential new Bitcoin crash.
