Bitcoin Surges Past $74,577, Approaching Key $75K Level
Bitcoin's price surged over 5% to $74,577 in pre-market trading on Tuesday, marking its first approach to the key $75,000 level in almost a month.
The sudden increase in Bitcoin's value lifted crypto-linked stocks in pre-market trading, with Strategy Inc (MSTR) and Circle Internet Group (CRCL) leading the charge.
MSTR, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, saw its stock price jump over 2% in pre-market hours after buying almost 14,000 Bitcoin for roughly $1 billion. The company now holds a total of 780,897 Bitcoin, ranking second behind BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin ETF (IBIT).
The increase in Bitcoin's value comes as industry participants continue to call for clarity on digital assets. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Senator Cynthia Lummis have urged lawmakers to move the Clarity Act forward, which could establish a clear set of rules for digital assets in the United States.
