Bitcoin Surges Past $79,900 as Bulls Push Prices Higher in August
Bitcoin's price broke above $79,900 as bulls pushed prices higher in August. The cryptocurrency has had its best month since 2013, gaining nearly 25%.
The increase was partly driven by a weaker dollar and positive momentum in altcoins like Arbitrum, which surged 17%. However, Bitcoin remains the market leader with resistance near $82,800 ahead.
Traders are showing optimism about further gains for Bitcoin, with active call options at higher strike prices. This is despite the Altcoin Season Index indicating that altcoins have yet to consistently outperform Bitcoin.
