Bitcoin Surges Past $79K on Tightening Exchange Reserves
Bitcoin (BTC) surged past $79,000 on Wednesday as derivatives demand strengthened and exchange reserves continued to tighten. The price jump was accompanied by a sharp increase in cumulative net taker volume in Bitcoin futures, which climbed to $9.2 billion, its highest level since February.
CryptoQuant analyst Amr Taha noted that this rise indicates 'renewed conviction from market participants.' Similarly, CryptoQuant's Abdullah Zia pointed out that the 90-day futures taker cumulative volume delta has been rising steadily since late March, confirming a 'high-conviction signal showing that demand is actively absorbing any available sell-side liquidity in the futures market.'
On the supply side, Bitcoin reserves on exchanges have contracted sharply. According to CryptoQuant's exchange reserve data, BTC balance has dropped from around 675,000 in early January to approximately 618,300.
