Bitcoin Surges Past $80,000 as Bull Market Indicators Soar
The Bitcoin price has surged by nearly 24% to reach almost $80,000, sparking optimism that it may be entering a new bull phase. According to CryptoQuant's Bull Score, which measures various indicators of the market, this score has jumped from 30 to 80, indicating a shift towards bullish sentiment.
This increase in the Bull Score is largely driven by positive macroeconomic factors, including increased U.S. Treasury bond buybacks and potential government interest in Bitcoin. However, for confirmation that a new bull phase has begun, it's crucial for the price to sustain above its 365-day moving average near $83,000.
While some analysts remain cautious about short-term profit-taking and increased exchange inflows posing risks of pullbacks, others are more optimistic. Investment bank Bernstein forecasts Bitcoin rising to $150,000 by mid-2027 and $300,000 by 2029 due to debt crises and institutional demand. However, Charles Edwards warns that this is only feasible if Bitcoin Core developers implement quantum-resistant cryptography to address the threat of quantum computing risks.
