Bitcoin Surges Past $80,000 as Goldman Sachs Backs Digital Assets
Bitcoin's price surged by 26% over the past week to break above $80,000. Goldman Sachs maintained its 'Buy' ratings for Coinbase (COIN.US) and Robinhood (HOOD.US), increasing their target prices in the process.
The total market capitalization of digital assets reached $2.8 trillion, a 21% increase from the previous week, although trading volumes have retraced nearly 75% from recent highs.
Goldman Sachs' acquisition of Neos Investments for up to $2.25 billion has drawn attention, as well as its disclosure that it holds $86.5 million worth of spot XRP investment products.
