Bitcoin Surges Past $80,000 Threshold for First Time Since May
Bitcoin has reclaimed its price level of $80,000 for the first time since May, as it continues to rally in strength. The altcoin market is also feeling the effects, with Ether (ETH), XRP, and Solana (SOL) all experiencing gains alongside Bitcoin.
The recent surge in digital assets can be attributed to increased liquidity expectations tied to the U.S. Treasury's expanded buybacks of long-term bonds. This has led to a decline in Treasury yields and the dollar, driving demand for risk assets including Bitcoin.
As of August 25, Bitcoin was trading at $80,864.39 on Binance's USDT market, up 4.31% from the previous day. Over the past week, it has surged 29%. Ether is currently trading at $2,513.52 on Binance's USDT market, with XRP and Solana experiencing gains of 2.86% and 7.4%, respectively.
