Bitcoin Surges Past $80K Amid $2.72B ETF Inflows and Treasury Boost
Bitcoin surpassed $80,000 after experiencing a sharp upward trend on August 25, 2026. The cryptocurrency gained 24% over the past week and rose to $2,500 for Ethereum.
The influx of institutional capital was driven by $2.72 billion in net inflows into US spot Bitcoin ETFs over the past month. This demand was bolstered by the US Treasury's decision to double its purchases of longer-dated bonds, lowering yields and encouraging capital allocation toward risk assets.
LiquidChain (LIQUID), a Layer 3 network aiming to bridge Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, raised nearly $950,000 in its presale. The protocol uses trust-minimized proofs to verify states across the three networks, enabling atomic settlement on a Solana-class virtual machine.
