Bitcoin Surges Past $80k as Valuation Gap with Gold Widens
The Bitcoin price has seen a significant surge in recent days, reaching its best month since October 2025. This marks a turning point for the cryptocurrency after a long downward trend that started from an all-time high of $126,198 on October 6.
Bitcoin ETF inflows have been consistently positive, contributing to a 25% increase in price since August 19. On August 27, the price broke above $80,000 for the first time this year.
Crypto investors are now asking if the bear market is over, but Bitcoin bulls should be focusing on another question: can Bitcoin close its valuation gap with gold? With a current valuation under $2 trillion and gold's market cap at over $32 trillion, there is potential for Bitcoin to have more than 1,500% upside growth.
Bitcoin's dominance in the crypto market is not expected to change soon, as it remains the most widely held cryptocurrency. Its status as a store-of-value asset has been solidified through retail, corporate, and institutional adoption.
