Bitcoin Surges Past $81,000 as Broad-Based Rally Continues
Bitcoin's price has surpassed $81,000, marking a significant milestone in its recent rally. The cryptocurrency is trading around $81,060 on Friday morning, having eased by 0.22% since midnight UTC.
The move higher is broad-based, with several other cryptocurrencies also experiencing gains. Ether (ETH) has added 4.52% over the past 24 hours, while XRP and Solana have gained 5.58% and 3.04%, respectively.
Privacy coins have been particularly strong, with Zcash (ZEC) leading the way. It has gained 16.55% over 24 hours, followed closely by Monero (XMR), which has risen by 5.89%. Dash (DASH) has also performed well, increasing by 19.24%.
The futures market is showing signs of a bullish trend, with the long-short taker volume ratio standing at 51.4% to 48.5%, indicating that buyers are driving the rally. The options market is also leaning towards calls, with the most traded bet being the $80,000 call expiring Sept. 25 for Bitcoin.
Gold and silver prices have also risen, with gold up 0.17% to $4,480 and silver gaining 0.25% to $67.11. The dollar index is flat at 99.063, while Nasdaq 100 futures have added 0.42%.
