Bitcoin Surges Past 890k Daily Transactions Amid Low Fees
Bitcoin's blockchain processed an astonishing 893,391 transactions on September 6, making it the fourth-busiest day in its history. This surge is a significant milestone for Bitcoin, but experts caution against interpreting it as proof of increased demand or new investors.
Galaxy Research ranked this reading as the fourth-highest daily transaction count in Bitcoin's history, surpassing 99% of all previous days. The increase from 723,854 transactions the previous day is a notable 23.4%, and compared to approximately 441,035 transactions on the same day last year, daily activity has risen by about 102.6%.
However, not all metrics show a corresponding surge in economic activity or new users. Active addresses have decreased by 10.7%, while transferred value reached approximately $3.36 billion, up 33.8%. Network fees fell about 8.1% to $191,073.
