Bitcoin Surges Past Meta in Market Cap Ranking
Bitcoin's market capitalization has surpassed Meta Platforms to rank 13th among the world's largest assets by market cap, reaching $1.53 trillion as of August 21, 2026.
This milestone comes amidst a sharp multi-day rally that has pushed Bitcoin above $75,000 and lifted Ethereum by 20-25% over the same period.
The surge in Bitcoin's price is attributed to several catalysts, including the U.S. Treasury's plan to at least double long-dated bond buybacks, which eased yields and injected fresh liquidity into risk assets.
Bitcoin ETF inflows also played a major role, with spot ETFs recording hundreds of millions in daily inflows over the past week.
