Bitcoin's price surged to multi-month highs, breaking free from its recent trading range between $62,000 and $65,000. The coin climbed from around $63,000 to nearly $80,000 in a brief span, surpassing its significant daily moving averages.

The 200-day moving average at approximately $72,060 had been a major hurdle for Bitcoin, but it has now decisively moved above this level. This shift marked a pivotal change in the coin's technical structure, with the 50-day and 100-day averages left behind near $68,300 and $66,750.

Bitcoin currently trades at around $79,360, finding itself in an overbought zone with its relative strength index (RSI) at 77. Immediate resistance is concentrated between $80,000 and $82,000, correlating closely with the coin's May local peak.
