Bitcoin Surges to $80,000 Amid Record Institutional Inflows
The Bitcoin price has surged to $80,000 and continues its August market rally. The cryptocurrency gained 14% in one week and a whopping 25% in just one month, with Ethereum up 32% and XRP rising by 35%. Other cryptocurrencies such as Solana have also seen significant gains.
The key drivers behind this rally include US Treasury bond interventions that have lowered yields and revived demand for risk-on assets. Additionally, record institutional inflows into Bitcoin ETFs are pouring in nearly $1.92 billion in just one week. The anticipation of the Clarity Act's Senate vote by mid-September is also contributing to the surge.
Cryptocurrency adoption is growing rapidly across various sectors. Tokenization is becoming more prevalent, with companies like Posco shifting trade receivables onto the Avalanche blockchain. Bitwise is launching automated portfolios that convert tokenized assets into AI and robotics baskets. Big names such as Shopify, Microsoft, Steak 'n Shake, Chipotle, Gucci, and Balenciaga are also accepting cryptocurrency payments for digital purchases.
