Bitcoin Surges to $80,000 on TGA Funds and NVIDIA Earnings, but Inflation Concerns Send Prices Back Down
A recent report from SBI VC Trade highlighted significant fluctuations in the cryptocurrency market over the past week. The price of Bitcoin (BTC) experienced a temporary surge to $80,000 following reports of the US Treasury Department's potential use of TGA funds for long-term bond purchases.
NVIDIA's strong quarterly earnings announcement also contributed to the increase in BTC prices, with the company reporting a 106% year-over-year increase in revenue and a 117% rise in data center revenue. This news fueled expectations of continued growth in AI investments, further driving up BTC prices.
However, the market took a downturn after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell expressed concerns about inflation, hinting at potential interest rate hikes. As a result, BTC prices dropped below $80,000.
