Bitcoin Surges to $82K Amid Digital Asset Market Boom
Bitcoin (BTC) reached an all-time high of $82,000 overnight on September 3-4, sparking $536 million in position liquidations. The cryptocurrency's price surged to $2,500 for Ethereum (ETH), with net inflows into spot bitcoin ETFs reaching a record $730 million on September 3.
The sharp move higher was driven by increased adoption and investment in the digital asset market, which saw its capitalization rise from $2.66 trillion to $2.7 trillion. Bitcoin's dominance for the week was 59.6%, while Ethereum's share was 11.1%.
However, analysts are not calling a clear reversal yet, with Fidelity suggesting that the bottom may have formed in July and a new low possible around November if historical cyclicality holds.
