Bitcoin Surges to Nearly $80K on Strong ETF Inflows and Breakout Momentum
Bitcoin's price has surged to its highest level in roughly three months, regaining the $77,000 mark after breaking out of a multi-week consolidation range. The move has brought the $80,000 area back into focus and pushed the market's bullish structure.
The sharp weekly rally and renewed demand for spot Bitcoin ETFs have contributed to this momentum. A significant portion of the recent increase can be attributed to forced buying in the derivatives market, as bearish positions were liquidated, adding further demand to the rally.
According to Glassnode data, nearly $1 billion in net inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs occurred over a three-day period, marking the strongest three-day inflow period since Bitcoin last traded above $80,000. This renewed institutional interest is significant, as spot Bitcoin ETFs provide traditional investors with regulated exposure to BTC without requiring direct custody of the underlying asset.
From a technical perspective, the market is approaching an area where sellers could emerge. TradingView's technical readings show that momentum indicators are presenting a more cautious picture, suggesting that Bitcoin has entered overbought territory after its rapid advance. The $80,000-$82,500 region becomes an important test for the market.
