Bitcoin Surges to Three-Month High as Market Seeks Bottom
Bitcoin's price surged to $76,800 on Friday, marking its highest level in three months. This significant jump of nearly 9% over 24 hours has raised questions about whether the market has finally found its bottom.
The rally was triggered by a combination of factors, including Treasury buybacks, an SEC proposal on cryptocurrency regulation, and a White House meeting between President Donald Trump and crypto executives. These catalysts led to forced short liquidations, with over $2.74 billion in short positions unwound on Wednesday alone.
While some analysts are optimistic about the market's prospects, others remain cautious. CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju noted that Bitcoin demand has turned positive across both spot and futures markets for the first time since October 2025, but described this shift as an early and relatively weak signal. Meanwhile, traders like @astronomer_zero argue that Bitcoin has already established a bottom near $60,000 and is now entering a broader breakout phase.
