Bitcoin Surges Towards $100,000 as Experts Predict Further Gains
The Bitcoin price has surged in August, gaining around 25% and breaking above $81,000 for the first time since May. The current price is near $79,000, but experts are predicting a further increase to $95,000-$100,000 on a sustained break.
Joel Kruger of LMAX Group sees $83,000 as Bitcoin's next significant target after recovering above $80,000, while Ryan Lee of Bitget Research believes a break above $80,000 could open the $82,000-$87,000 area. However, Chris Sullivan of Hyperion Decimus warns that Bitcoin would need to hold around $67,000-$70,000 if a deeper correction develops.
Tony Sycamore from IG market analyst is more ambitious, predicting a move towards $95,000-$100,000 after a sustained break above $80,000. This would take Bitcoin back to levels last seen near the beginning of 2026 and erase much of the decline from last October's record high of $126,000.
Standard Chartered's formal end-2026 forecast remains at $100,000, but Geoff Kendrick believes there is now a risk that his target may be too low. He thinks Bitcoin could retest its previous all-time high of $126,000 before year-end if spot ETF demand continues to recover.
