Bitcoin Swings Amid Rising Bond Yields and Treasury Hints
Bitcoin (BTC) traded around $78,000 at Monday's Wall Street open as US bond yields approached new 20-year highs.
The US Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, hinted in a CNBC interview that he had not yet acted to shore up the long end of the yield curve, 10-year and 30-year bonds.
Bond yields are rising despite recent policy changes, with the 10-year yield at its highest levels since January 2025 at 4.76%, and the 30-year yield reaching 5.269% on Monday.
Bitcoin's price was volatile as it maintained its 50-week exponential moving average (EMA) at $77,269 as support, but a hidden bearish divergence between price and the relative strength index (RSI) contributed to month-end weakness.
