Bitcoin Takes a Hit Amid Interest Rate Rumors, But Altcoin Events Loom
Bitcoin's value has taken a hit this week, closing down by 1.47% as investors await significant economic and altcoin events set to unfold in the coming days.
The decline comes amidst rising predictions that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates, which has led to a strengthening US dollar, negatively impacting Bitcoin's price.
However, despite this downturn, numerous developments and announcements are expected across various sectors, including finance and cryptocurrency. On Monday, Upbit will delist two altcoins, AERGO (AERG) and AQT, while American Bitcoin is set to release its second-quarter financial report.
Other notable events include the crypto wallet Ctrl Wallet ceasing operations and Zapper shutting down entirely. Binance will also end support for the Sophon (SOPH) mainnet on Tuesday, marking a significant change in the altcoin landscape.
