Bitcoin Takes Breather at $77,000 Amid Profit-Taking Fears

Bitcoin's price has taken a breather at around $77,000 on Monday after a massive rally of over 23% last week. This rally was driven by the US Treasury buyback announcement and supported by institutional demand, with spot Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) recording $1.92 billion in weekly inflows.

However, on-chain data suggests that traders may have started taking profits as Bitcoin approaches the key $80,000 mark. This could lead to short-term consolidation or a pullback.

The highest weekly inflow of spot ETFs this year was recorded at $1.92 billion, surpassing the largest inflow since mid-October 2025. Despite profit-taking activity, Bitcoin's spot demand has flipped into positive territory after remaining negative since the end of February, indicating strengthening net buying interest.

According to technical analysis, if Bitcoin closes above the immediate resistance at $78,490 on a weekly basis, it could extend its rally toward the 50-week Simple Moving Average (SMA) at $81,059. A close above this level could lead to further gains toward the 50% retracement level at $87,599.
