Bitcoin Taps into Satoshi's Vision with Shift to Smaller Transactions
Recent data suggests Bitcoin is shifting towards smaller transactions, aligning with Satoshi Nakamoto's original vision for the cryptocurrency. In his design, Bitcoin was meant to be an everyday money, rather than just a store of value.
CryptoQuant founder Ki Young Ju highlighted this pattern shift on social media, focusing on peer-to-peer (P2P) payments. He first examined transaction fees on the Bitcoin network, which compensate validators for processing transfers.
A decade-long comparison of median transaction fees between Bitcoin and Ethereum revealed a surprising trend: since 2021, Bitcoin fees have been cheaper than Ethereum's. Currently, the median fee on Bitcoin is around $0.40, while Ethereum's is about $0.68.
