Bitcoin Teeters at 50-Day SMA as Bulls Eye $65,400 Breakout
Bitcoin's price is nearing a critical technical decision point as it trades near its 50-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) while pressing against a long-running descending trendline.
The daily chart shows BTC compressed between its 50-day SMA and the descending trendline, leaving little room for price to move without challenging one of those boundaries. Bitcoin is trading at around $63,420, almost exactly alongside the 50-day SMA at about $63,456.
For bulls, a decisive daily break above the descending trendline would be the first confirmation, followed by clearing the recent cluster of highs around $64,500 to $66,000. Beyond that zone, the chart places the 200-day SMA near $69,505, making roughly $69,500-$70,000 a significant resistance area.
However, if Bitcoin loses the 50-day SMA and starts closing below the nearby $63,000 region, the bullish scenario would weaken. The descending trendline continues toward approximately $61,000 later in August, so a deeper breakdown could shift attention toward that area and the lower part of the recent trading range.
