Bitcoin Teeters on Breakout That Could Send Prices Soaring to $76,000
Bitcoin is inching closer to a technical threshold that chart analysts believe could unlock one of the year's more significant rallies. The digital currency has climbed around 3% since midnight UTC, pushing it near a resistance zone that market technicians have been tracking for weeks.
Aksel Kibar, a market technician who publishes research under the handle Tech Charts, has identified an inverse head-and-shoulders pattern taking shape on Bitcoin's daily chart. This kind of pattern is typically viewed by chart analysts as an early warning that a downtrend may be losing steam and that buyers could soon regain control.
The neckline of this pattern currently sits close to $66,600. As of the latest trading, the asset was changing hands near $66,500, putting it within striking distance of that ceiling. A confirmed close above the neckline would validate the pattern and open the door to a measured-move target - a calculation based on the vertical distance between the pattern's lowest point and the neckline.
Applying this math to Bitcoin's current structure produces a widely cited $76,000 figure now circulating among traders. However, seasoned market watchers caution that recoveries from steep drawdowns often take longer, and prove choppier, than early signals suggest.
