Bitcoin to Secure AI-Generated Wealth, Says Anthony Pompliano
Anthony Pompliano, founder of Pomp Investments, believes that Bitcoin will play a crucial role in securing wealth generated by artificial intelligence (AI). In a recent CNBC interview on June 24, he stated that AI and Bitcoin are complementary technologies over the next decade.
Pompliano argues that as AI boosts global GDP through increased productivity, Bitcoin will serve as a protective measure for this new wealth. He notes that an easy way to see the intersection of these two technologies is by considering what currency machines will use.
Despite recent negative sentiment, with Bitcoin hitting a seven-week low of $59,086 on June 23, Pompliano remains unfazed. He attributes the price drop to factors such as the upcoming sale of $8.5 billion worth of Bitcoin by Mt. Gox and net outflows exceeding $1 billion in spot Bitcoin ETFs.
Pompliano anticipates another price rally in Q4 2024 or early 2025, aligning with past halving year trends. Bernstein analysts project that Bitcoin could reach $1 million by 2033, with a cycle-high of $200,000 by 2025, driven by spot ETF demand and limited supply.
Major corporate investors in Bitcoin, such as MicroStrategy, have seen profits soar. At current prices, MicroStrategy's Bitcoin holdings are valued at over $14 billion.
