Bitcoin Tops $80,000, Crypto-Linked Stocks Surge

Crypto-linked stocks surged on Tuesday after Bitcoin topped $80,000 for the first time since mid-May.

The world's largest cryptocurrency rose nearly 3% earlier in the day to reach a high of $81,237.94 before easing back to around $79,311.36, still up 0.5% on the day.

The rally was sparked by last week's boost after U.S. President Donald Trump urged Congress to pass a crypto bill and renewed fears of debasement with the Treasury Department's support for long-dated bonds.

This has sent Bitcoin prices soaring, rising around 25% over the past seven sessions and trimming this year's loss to about 10%, although it remains well below its all-time high of around $126,000 hit in October 2025.
