Bitcoin Touches Three-Month High at $81,455 Before Pulling Back
Bitcoin briefly touched $81,455 overnight, its highest level since May 15, before pulling back below $81,000. This move marks a significant milestone for the cryptocurrency, which has been steadily gaining value since August 19's Treasury bond buyback announcement.
The surge in Bitcoin's price comes as altcoins give back gains across the board, with many assets experiencing a downturn. Despite this, Silver is up 1.5% on Friday, maintaining its debasement trade alongside Bitcoin.
Derivatives data shows that crypto futures have been active over the past 24 hours but lack fresh directional conviction. Open interest remains steady at just above $140 billion, while volume has risen nearly 10% to $222 billion.
