Bitcoin Traders Eye September 15 as Clarity Act Vote Looms
Bitcoin traders are eyeing September 15 as a major catalyst for the market, when the Senate vote on the Clarity Act is scheduled. This vote turns regulatory clarity into a concrete trading event.
The price of Bitcoin has already rallied to its best week since 2023, topping $79,000. The move follows a stretch of visible regulatory momentum, including the SEC's first crypto rulemaking proposal and President Trump's meeting with industry executives at the White House.
Analysts have laid out a cluster of price targets tied to the vote, ranging from $100,000 within a year to up to $500,000 by 2029. VanEck's Matthew Sigel projected this high target, while Standard Chartered's Geoff Kendrick said Bitcoin could retest its record high of $126,000 before year-end.
A successful vote is expected to send Bitcoin sharply higher on locked-in regulatory guardrails, but a failed vote could trigger a short-term sell-off. The CFTC Chairman Mike Selig emphasized that passing Clarity is the clearest way to prevent future 'rogue' enforcement campaigns.
