Bitcoin Traders Face Expensive Dilemma as Inflation Rates Rise
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.4% in August from July's 0.1%, while the annual inflation rate held at 3.4%. Excluding food and energy, prices increased 0.3%, compared to 0.2% a month earlier.
The producer price report showed a 0.4% monthly increase and a 5.4% annual gain in August. Energy accounted for much of the increase in both reports, with gasoline prices rising 3.9% in August, more than one-third of the monthly CPI increase.
Higher energy prices can become part of other businesses' costs, leading to higher delivery expenses and potentially affecting consumer demand. The Federal Reserve's September meeting will consider these factors when deciding on interest rates.
