Bitcoin Traders Show Slight Short Bias Across Top Exchanges
Bitcoin perpetual futures traders are positioned slightly bearish across top exchanges Binance, OKX, and Bybit. Data shows that for every dollar invested in a long position, $1.015 is short, indicating a marginal short bias overall.
The ratios vary slightly across platforms, but all three major exchanges show a similar lean toward short positions. On Binance, the largest crypto exchange by volume, the long/short ratio stands at 47.5% long versus 52.5% short. OKX shows a nearly balanced split at 49.32% long and 50.68% short, while Bybit has the most pronounced short bias at 46.88% long and 53.01% short.
Analysts note that a balanced or slightly negative long/short ratio can sometimes precede a short squeeze if prices suddenly move upward, as short sellers may be forced to buy back their positions. However, the data alone does not provide a directional forecast and should be interpreted alongside other indicators such as volume, open interest changes, and broader market sentiment.
