Bitcoin Traders Turn Cautious Amid Year-End Rally Slowdown
Kalshi traders are growing cautious as Bitcoin's year-end rally shows signs of slowing down. In contrast, institutional access to Kalshi's prediction markets has expanded significantly, with Cantor connecting over 3,000 clients to its event contracts.
One notable development is the rise in short liquidations, which exceeded $3.1 billion over two days on August 19 and 20, according to CoinGlass data. This suggests that some traders are taking profits or covering their positions as Bitcoin approaches $72,000.
Meanwhile, VanEck noted that Bitcoin has triggered eight of its twelve capitulation signals in the past three months. Historically, when between four and eight signals have been triggered, it has indicated a shift from distribution to accumulation phases for Bitcoin's price action.
