Bitcoin Trapped in Descending Channel
Bitcoin's price action has been stuck within a descending channel since it peaked at around $126,000 eight months ago. This channel has seen lower highs and lower lows, with every strong rally stalling at the upper edge and every deep sell-off finding buyers near the floor. The May rejection at $83,156 set the current tone, with Bitcoin falling over 12% since then to start June near $73,670.
Kalshi traders now give Bitcoin a 60% chance of hitting $60,000 before reclaiming $100,000, indicating that they expect another leg down rather than a quick six-figure recovery. The same market previously priced only a 34% chance of Bitcoin clearing $100,000 before January 2027.
An analyst posting as NoName believes the channel's end is near $51,291, which he frames as the likely cycle bottom. Other technicians warn that the floor could print even lower, below $50,000. Bitcoin's descent has been a grind, not a crash, with it bleeding lower through a run of failed rebounds and touching roughly $60,000 in February.
