Bitcoin Treasury Posts Q2 Growth Despite Market Volatility
Bitcoin Treasury Corporation reported its second consecutive quarter of growth in Bitcoin per share, despite a significant decline in the underlying Bitcoin price. The company's Normal Course Issuer Bid and expanding institutional lending business were key drivers of value, using Bitcoin-denominated loans and yield generation to offset market volatility.
In Q2 2026, the company repurchased and cancelled 308,800 shares for about $1.23 million and extended its relationship with a U.S.-based trading firm via a new 100 BTC fixed-term loan. It also sold roughly 16.17 BTC to help fund buybacks.
The net loss of $7.9 million was largely driven by non-cash fair value declines in Bitcoin holdings amid a 31% drop in Bitcoin prices year-to-date. The company's average trading volume is 19,110, and the current market cap is C$36.83M.
