Bitcoin Treasury Shifts Strategy to Cash Accumulation and Reduced Leverage
Michael Saylor's Bitcoin Treasury company has shifted its financial strategy to prioritize cash accumulation and reducing net leverage to near zero. This move is a significant departure from the company's previous approach, which emphasized stockpiling Bitcoin. The company now holds $6.69 billion in dollar liquidity, with approximately $5.1 billion dedicated to covering dividends and operational expenses.
The remaining $1.59 billion is classified as flexible cash that can be used for various purposes such as investing in Bitcoin or repaying convertible debts. With a total of $6.75 billion in convertible debt, the near parity with dollar liquidity indicates a shift away from high leverage.
Experts believe that the newly raised funds will likely be directed towards cryptocurrency investments and settling existing obligations. This approach reflects a desire to streamline their financial structure and move away from a potentially burdensome legacy of debt.
