Bitcoin Tumbles Below $80,000 as Inflation Data Looms
Bitcoin's price has slipped below $80,000 amid growing expectations of an interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve. The leading cryptocurrency's recent surge above $82,000 was largely undone following strong employment data released on Friday.
The market is now focused on this week's inflation data releases, with investors awaiting the Producer Price Index (PPI) and Consumer Price Index (CPI) numbers to gauge the Fed's monetary policy intentions.
LMAX Group Market Strategist Joel Kruger observed that Bitcoin has demonstrated remarkable resilience despite numerous reasons for a correction. The cryptocurrency has held steady around $80,000 following its aggressive August rise, which propelled it into overbought territory.
QCP Capital, a leading market analysis company, has identified critical price levels for Bitcoin. According to their predictions, if the cryptocurrency fails to break through the $80,000 to $82,000 resistance zone, selling pressure may intensify.
