Bitcoin is struggling to maintain its position above $79,000 after a strong August rally. The digital asset is currently trading at around $78,775, facing resistance at the key level. This pause comes as investors weigh hawkish signals from Federal Reserve officials ahead of the September FOMC meeting.

The U.S. Federal Reserve's shift in stance is causing market caution, with rising global macroeconomic pressure and changing expectations regarding monetary policy contributing to the uncertainty. As interest rates rise, investors often shift capital away from riskier assets like cryptocurrencies and toward safer alternatives like government bonds.

Institutional investors, who drove Bitcoin's 24% gain throughout August, are also showing signs of hesitation. Data from August 28 revealed that U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded net outflows of approximately $201.8 million, breaking a long streak of positive inflows.
