Bitcoin Tussles with $82K Resistance Amid Strong ETF Demand
Bitcoin is testing its $82K resistance level after a strong influx of institutional buying from US spot ETFs. The latest market letter from CryptoRus notes that the second-largest daily inflows of the year, totaling $730.9 million, has put Bitcoin in a bullish test rather than a completed breakout.
The letter points to three signals behind this week's breakout test: the ETF print itself, a leverage reset with $554.2 million in crypto positions liquidated over 24 hours, and Zcash's climb from roughly $40 to above $1,200 over the past year.
CryptoRus notes that forced short covering can speed up a rally without guaranteeing organic demand sticks around once the squeeze ends. The report emphasizes that speculative capital is willing to concentrate aggressively when a narrative combines scarcity, renewed relevance, and crowded positioning.
A successful retest above $82K would provide stronger confirmation of the breakout, while losing $79K would weaken the immediate bullish case and put the liquidity area around $78K back in focus.
