Bitcoin Unfazed by Escalating US-EU Trade Dispute Over Greenland

The US-EU trade dispute over Greenland has taken a new turn as President Donald Trump's proposed tariffs against seven European nations have been met with resistance from both sides. The EU has scheduled an emergency meeting, and US Democrats are preparing legislation to block the tariffs.

Despite the escalating tensions, Bitcoin (BTC) remains steady near $95,000, showing little reaction to the geopolitical turmoil. This is a stark contrast to traditional markets, which have been closed over the weekend due to the holiday.

The proposed tariffs target Denmark, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Finland, with an initial rate of 10% on all goods exported to the US set to rise to 25% by June 1 if no deal is reached. Analysts at the Kobeissi Letter believe this is the fourth step in the trade war and expect financial markets to open lower on Sunday evening and Monday.

Bitcoin has weathered previous tariff battles, including a significant drop from $110,000 to $75,000 during the first trade war. However, it's unclear how the current situation will play out as the EU remains highly opposed to the idea of Trump acquiring Greenland.
