Bitcoin Volatility Breakout Imminent, Fundstrat Warns
Bitcoin may be on the verge of a significant price move after experiencing historically low volatility. According to Fundstrat Global Advisors, eight previous periods of similar low volatility were followed by an average absolute move of 30.2% over the next two months.
The analysis does not predict the direction of the potential move, but rather its size. Four out of the eight historical cases studied resulted in gains, while four ended with losses.
Applying a 30% move to a hypothetical Bitcoin price of $64,000 would put BTC near either $83,200 or $44,800. The current setup creates two competing possibilities: if fresh buyers emerge after short positions are closed, the rally could develop into a stronger recovery, but if the move was mainly driven by traders covering shorts, it could lose momentum.
