Bitcoin Volatility Hits Multi-Year Lows Amid $225M ETF Outflows
Bitcoin's one-year realized volatility hit near multi-year lows at around 42% at the end of Q2 2026, according to TradingView. Historically low realized volatility has preceded sharp price movements after catalysts.
The Bitcoin spot CFD saw a decline following net outflows from U.S. Bitcoin spot ETFs, which logged approximately $225 million in withdrawals on Thursday. The iShares Bitcoin Trust accounted for about $203 million of these withdrawals.
Nine firms have pledged around $15 million over three years to fund research and development related to network security and post-quantum cryptography within the Bitcoin Core project. However, this consortium will not be responsible for governing protocol upgrades.
