Bitcoin Volatility Spikes, Fundstrat Sees 30% Move Looming
Bitcoin's recent calm may be short-lived according to Fundstrat's Head of Digital Asset Strategy, Sean Farrell. He noted that Bitcoin's 30-day volatility has reached one of its lowest levels ever, similar to periods in the past where it moved around 30%. However, this does not necessarily mean a rally is imminent, as Bitcoin has moved up or down in previous comparable periods.
One factor that could impact Bitcoin's price is rising U.S. Treasury yields. With the 10-year yield reaching its highest levels in months, investors may prefer safer assets over riskier ones like Bitcoin. However, Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee suggests that contained yields and low oil prices could provide a supportive environment for Bitcoin.
Farrell's research suggests that if yields remain elevated, it could eventually bring an end to Bitcoin's calm period. But with stable yields and subdued oil prices, Bitcoin may have some breathing room before its next move.
