Bitcoin Volatility Suggests 30% Price Move Imminent
Bitcoin's price movement over the past 30 days has been unusually quiet, sparking predictions of a potential 30% move in either direction. According to Fundstrat, previous periods with similar low volatility have led to larger price swings, but it's unclear whether Bitcoin will rise or fall.
The analysis by Fundstrat identified eight previous periods when Bitcoin's volatility dropped to comparable levels. The median absolute price move over the following 60 days was 30.2%, with four of those periods ending in gains and four in losses.
Fundstrat's head of digital asset strategy, Sean Farrell, noted that 'the typical magnitude of historical moves is notable.' Despite Bitcoin's recent 27% loss since the start of 2026, Fundstrat remains cautiously optimistic about its future price action.
