Bitcoin Volumes Sink to Lowest Level in Two Weeks

The year-end holiday lull has seen Bitcoin's trading volumes plummet to their lowest two-week period this year, according to data from Santiment. This decline marks a significant drop in activity compared to last year's holiday season, with major cryptocurrencies recording half the trading volumes of late 2024.

Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, and Dogecoin are all experiencing significantly lower weekly trading volumes than they did during this time last year. Santiment attributes this decline to flat price movement and the distraction of year-end holidays, rather than panic selling.

The analytics firm's data shows that Bitcoin's social dominance has dropped to low single-digit territory, a sign that traders are not actively participating in the market. Oro Crypto notes that this environment resembles exhaustion rather than fear, citing the absence of heavy retail participation typically seen during major cycle peaks.
