Bitcoin vs Gold: Tether CEO Explains Why BTC Lags Behind
The ongoing rivalry between Bitcoin and Gold continues to be a hot topic in both crypto and traditional finance circles. While both assets have seen their share of dominance, Bitcoin has yet to surpass Gold's adoption and global influence.
Tether's CEO Paolo Ardoino shared his thoughts on why this is the case during a recent interview. He explained that he has a bias towards Bitcoin but believes it's still early in its development as a widely accepted asset.
Ardoino pointed out that many finance professionals are older and not familiar with Bitcoin, which has hindered its adoption. In contrast, Gold has been around for centuries and is well-understood by most market players.
According to Ardoino, the majority of decision-makers in the world are over 60 years old, and it's this age group that doesn't fully comprehend Bitcoin. He believes a generational change will be necessary for Bitcoin to gain broader acceptance as a currency during financial crises.
