Bitcoin Wallet from Satoshi Era Stuns New York Court with Massive Gain

A historic event has unfolded on the Bitcoin blockchain as one of the oldest wallets from the Satoshi era has finally moved its assets after nearly 15 years of dormancy.

The wallet, tagged 'Noah Doe #38097', had remained untouched since November 5, 2011, when the average price of a single BTC was around $3. By moving 40.00 BTC worth approximately $3.09 million, the original owner demonstrated an astonishing net gain of 2,571,899%.

This transaction thwarts the plans of New York lawyers who are trying to claim 'abandoned' assets worth $293 billion using a class-action lawsuit based on New York State's 1958 lost property statutes. The plaintiffs argued that if cryptocurrency remains inactive for more than five years, it is considered abandoned and can be claimed by a third party.

The sender's reactivation of the wallet proves that years of inactivity do not necessarily mean abandonment, but rather long-term investing in decentralized assets.
