Bitcoin Whale Awakens with $46M Transfer Amid Coldcard Security Concerns

A Bitcoin whale has transferred 730 BTC worth approximately $46.12 million to a brand-new wallet after four years of complete radio silence on-chain.

The transaction, flagged by analytics platform Onchain Lens and subsequently amplified by The Block, suggests the holder is upgrading their security setup rather than selling their assets.

The original wallet had been accumulating Bitcoin over a span of roughly seven years before going quiet four years ago. The timing of this move is what makes it especially interesting, with recent reports surfacing regarding a potential exploit affecting Coldcard hardware wallets.

While no direct link has been confirmed between this specific whale and the Coldcard vulnerability, the proximity of events has fueled speculation that security concerns motivated the transfer.
